Don’t forget to create!

Don’t forget to create!

This blog is all about becoming an artist, yet I haven’t said much about creating.  I believe most artists have that topic well understood.  The creating part is the easy thing to do. It’s all the other stuff that seems to bog us artists down.  But still, I need to make sure I address that as well.  I personally tend to spend more time on my art than all the other stuff put together.  That does not mean I don’t struggle with making sometimes too.

Some days the idea’s flow while others seem to be a total drought. On the day’s I have idea’s I try to put them down on paper.  Nothing fancy, I just get them down, so I don’t forget.  I kind of squirrel them away so that I have them when my fountain of creativity is low on ideas.

Currently I tend to work on more than one drawing at a time.  I work on an 18 x 24 inch and a smaller 11 x 14 inch.  I also have a large one, 3 feet by 7 for days I want to draw and watch T.V.   These multiple sizes allow for me to be able to change it up and not get bored.

Just remember, we all have time when we just don’t want to do our work or don’t have any ideas to put down.  This is when you dig deep and work despite these feelings.

Take away: don’t forget to create!
