A preview

So far, we have talked about working and getting the work completed by finding other artists to become your cohort, creating goals and reflecting on those goals.  It is not all about making.  There is so much business involved when you are an artist.  I figured I’d give a preview of all the things I have had to work on.  Some of it is business, some of it is understanding what you want.  I’m still working on this whole processes. But, I shall share what I feel is working and I will share what I feel isn’t working.  Here are some topics I’d like to write about:
1. Defining what type of artist you want to be.Finding shows, grants and
residents.
2.Research all local galleries and what they have to offer an artist.
3. Finding the right gallery to represent you.
4. Critiques from fellow artists, and their importance.
5.Finding your brand
6. Creating an artist business plan.
7.Searching for creativity and mastery of medium
8. Social media platforms
9.Fun things such as resumes, artist statements, creating a bio, and
cards to pass out.
10. Side jobs for needed income.

These are just a few topics I want to touch on.  I tend to go all over the place, on a daily basis, so this list is as much for you as it is for me.

The takeaway? What you can expect in future blogs.
